Scientists develop wireless braking for bicycles

DESCRIPTION

If your bicycle is wrapped with tangling wires all over then here is a good news for you, as scientists developed wireless braking system for bicycles.Presented by the researchers of Germany’s Saarland University this prototype wireless braking system has a reliability of 99.999999999997%. The team installs the system on the front wheel of a bicycle and to make the brake working the rider simply have to squeez the right side rubber handlebar grip. After this a pressure sensor under the rubber grip will activate which in turn activates a small handlebar-mounted sending unit. That unit proceeds to send a radio signal to a receiver mounted on the end of the fork, which relays it to an actuator, which activates the disc brake. The harder that the grip is squeezed, the more firmly the brake is applied.
